Multiple-choice marking, with no silent errors
This page is published for review. It will be completed and proofread before the site goes fully live.
The problem
A box misread by a machine does not show: the mark is wrong, and nobody knows.
Marking hundreds of multiple-choice sheets by hand takes days, and fatigue does the rest. Conventional optical readers are faster, but they decide alone: a half-filled box, a crossing-out, a crumpled sheet become an answer without anyone having decided so. When a student appeals, no one can say any longer what the machine read, or why.
The idea: a sheet that identifies itself
Every answer sheet is printed by the application and carries an anonymous QR code: it identifies the script, never the student. After the examination, a scanner — or simply a phone, guided on screen — photographs the sheets. The engine recognises each script, reads the ticked boxes, applies the answer key and computes the mark.
Doubt always goes back to a person
This is the rule the product rests on: the machine never settles a doubtful case. An ambiguous box, a blurred photo, a script it does not recognise are set aside and shown to a reviewer, with the image in front of them. The reviewer decides, and the decision is written to the log with their name and the time.
An unreadable sheet does not disappear either: its answers can be keyed in by hand, by two people who check each other.
A changed answer key leaves a record
A badly worded question, an answer to cancel: the answer key may change after the examination. Every change creates a new, reasoned version, and every mark for that paper is recomputed. It is always known which answer key produced which mark.
No internet, inside the institution
SANEX Correct runs on the institution’s local network, with no outside connection. Sheets and marks never leave the institution’s premises.
What SANEX Correct does not do
- It does not guess: a doubtful box goes to a person, never to the luck of a threshold.
- It does not see names: the sheet carries only an anonymous code.
- It does not rewrite history: an amended answer key is added to the previous one, never erases it.

A demonstration instance is permanently open: a fictitious institution, with papers already marked and others waiting to be read, reset every night. Credentials are provided on request — the demonstration contains no real student data.
