Our solutions · SANEX Suite

The whole examination, from anonymous script to signed minutes

Working draft

This page is published for review. It will be completed and proofread before the site goes fully live.

The problem

When anonymity, marking and results live in separate tools, every hand-over from one to the next is a place where the evidence gets lost.

A file exported here, copied there, touched up elsewhere: at every transfer a mark can change without a trace, and a list can reveal a name too early. When the examination board meets, no one can demonstrate any longer that the figure on screen is the one that came out of marking.

The idea: a single thread, end to end

SANEX Suite brings SANEX and SANEX Correct together in a single application. The script receives its anonymous code when it is handed out; it is handed in, marked — by hand, or by optical reading for multiple-choice tests —, its marks are approved, then anonymity is lifted at the examination board and the minutes are produced. Nothing is exported from one tool to another: the thread never breaks.

The life of an examination

The paper lead prepares the examination: its subjects, its papers, the multiple-choice answer key. Then the configuration is locked — everything is checked and frozen before the examination, and any later change requires a stated reason. Staff link each script to its student with a scan and record hand-ins; multiple-choice sheets are read automatically, and every doubtful case goes back to a reviewer.

Appeals, missing scripts and additional sheets each have their own procedure — and each leaves its record.

Anonymity is lifted only at the examination board

Until marks are final, the link between a script and a student stays sealed. Lifting it requires a written reason and is only possible at the moment set aside for it: the examination board. Every lifting is written to the log, with its author and the time.

A log that cannot be erased

Every action — a link, a mark, a corrected box, a lifting of anonymity — is written to a sealed, chained log. The application itself is not allowed to erase a single line: an error is corrected by a new entry, never by a deletion.

Designed for institutions

Several institutions can share one installation without ever seeing each other’s data. The application speaks French and English, runs entirely on the local network, with no internet, and backs itself up every night, encrypted.

What SANEX Suite does not do

See SANEX Suite at work

A demonstration instance is open: a fictitious university, one account per role — staff member, reviewer, paper lead, director — and examinations at every stage, reset every night. Credentials are provided on request — the demonstration contains no real student data.
